Pride Bigger Than Texas Night Parade

San Antonio Furry Events was proud to take part in the Pride Bigger Than Texas Night Parade, San Antonio’s official Pride celebration and one of the biggest nights of love, visibility, and community in our city.

This year was something truly special for S.A.F.E. Around 50 furries, handlers, friends, and supporters came together to march, cheer, and represent our community in the parade. For our first year participating, the turnout went far beyond what many of us expected. What started as a hope that maybe 20 people would show up turned into a full group of smiling faces, wagging tails, paws in the air, and so much love from the crowd.

Behind that moment were many hours of planning, organizing, messaging, promoting, coordinating, and making sure everyone had the information they needed to safely and proudly take part. Events like this do not happen by accident. They happen because people care. They happen because volunteers step up. They happen because a community believes in showing up for one another.

We want to give a huge thank you to everyone who helped make this possible. Thank you to the leadership team for the planning, communication, and time spent making sure things came together. Thank you to everyone who signed up, marched, helped a friend, checked on others, shared information, promoted the event, and brought good energy with them.

Most of all, thank you to everyone who showed up as themselves.

That is what Pride is about.

Pride is about being seen. It is about celebrating who you are, who you love, and the community that stands beside you. It is about making space for people to feel safe, welcomed, and accepted without having to shrink themselves down. For many in the furry community, that message means a lot. Our fandom has always been full of creativity, self-expression, chosen family, and people finding the courage to be more fully themselves.

Marching in the Pride Bigger Than Texas Night Parade was more than just walking a parade route. It was a reminder that we belong here too. It was a reminder that our community has heart, joy, color, and a whole lot of howl to share.

One of our leaders summed it up perfectly after the parade:

“From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much everyone for all the hard work. This has been one of the best Prides I’ve ever attended. Can’t wait for next year.”

We feel that deeply.

To everyone who marched with us, cheered for us, supported us, took photos, shared videos, helped behind the scenes, or simply gave us a little howl from the crowd, thank you. You helped make this a moment S.A.F.E. will remember.

This was our first year in the parade, but it will not be our last.

We are excited for what comes next, and we cannot wait to keep building a stronger, safer, more welcoming furry community here in San Antonio.

Happy Pride, San Antonio.

Keep being loud. Keep being proud. Keep being you.
