The SAFE community is full of talented paws, claws, hooves, scales, feathers, and creative chaos, and now we have a better way to show them off.
We are excited to introduce the new SAFE Creator Directory, a space built to help local and community-connected creators share their work, list their commission status, and give folks an easy way to find artists, makers, photographers, designers, crafters, performers, and other creative members of our furry family.
Whether you are looking for someone to draw your fursona, make a badge, take photos, design something cool, or just want to discover more creative folks in the community, the Creator Directory is here to help.
What is the Creator Directory?
The Creator Directory is a public listing of creators connected to the SAFE community. Each creator can have their own profile page with information about who they are, what they do, where to find them, and whether they are open for commissions.
Creator profiles may include:
- Creator name
- Profile picture
- Creator type or category
- Location
- Commission status
- Price range
- Social links and contact links
- A short bio
- Featured images showing their work
- A shareable profile page
Think of it like a little digital artist alley that lives on the SAFE website. No convention badge required, but snacks are still encouraged.
How to Browse Creators
Visitors can browse the Creator Directory ( Under Directory, then S.A.F.E. Creator Directory ) by visiting the SAFE Creators page.
From there, you can:
- Look through creator cards.
- Use search to find a creator by name or keyword.
- Filter by creator type.
- Click View Profile to see more information.
- Use the share buttons on a profile page to send it to friends.
Each profile page is designed to give creators more room to show who they are, what they offer, and where people can follow or contact them.
Featured Creators on the SAFE Homepage
You may also notice a Featured Creators section on the SAFE front page. This section randomly highlights creators from the directory so different community members can get a little spotlight.
It is a fun way to help people discover creators they may not have seen before. One visit may show artists, another may show photographers, another may show makers. Tiny rotating spotlight. Big community energy.
How Creators Can Join
Creators can submit their profile through the SAFE Creator submission form.
When creating a profile, you will be able to add your basic creator information, upload a profile picture, include links, add a short description, and upload up to five featured images of your work.
Your email address is required so we can send you access to manage your profile later. You can choose whether or not your email is shown publicly on your profile.
How Profile Updates Work
Creators do not need a website login to update their profile.
Instead, SAFE uses a private edit link and a one-time email code system.
Here is how it works:
- A creator gets a private edit link by email.
- When they open that link, they request a fresh access code.
- The code is emailed to them.
- They enter the code to unlock their profile edit page.
- They can update things like commission status, profile picture, social links, bio, and featured images.
- The code expires, and a new one is generated the next time they need to make changes.
This helps keep profiles easier to manage while still keeping the edit process more secure.
Keeping Commission Status Updated
One of the biggest reasons we wanted creator profiles was to make commission status easier to update.
Creators can mark whether they are open, closed, or unknown for commissions. This helps visitors quickly understand who may be available before reaching out.
If you are a creator, please try to keep your status updated when your availability changes. Future you will thank you. Future clients will thank you. The tiny admin goblin in the website will also thank you.
Why We Built This
SAFE is about connection, community, and helping local furry spaces grow stronger together. The Creator Directory gives us another way to support the creative side of the community by making it easier for people to find, follow, and support each other.
There are so many talented folks in our community, and we wanted a place where those creators could have more than just a tiny listing or quick hover box. Now each creator can have a full profile page that feels more personal, more useful, and easier to share.
