Meet & Greet at Texas Furry Siesta

San Antonio Furs Meet & Greet Brings Local Community Spirit to Texas Furry Siesta

There is something special about seeing the San Antonio furry community come together in one place. Whether it is at a local meetup, a photo shoot, a coffee hangout, a fursuit walk, a creator night, or a convention panel, these moments remind us that our community is built by the people who keep showing up for each other.

This month, that spirit is heading to Texas Furry Siesta.

On Friday, June 19, 2026, from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM, the San Antonio Furs Meet & Greet will take place in Reunion Ballroom A. This family-friendly, all-ages event is open to anyone from San Antonio, the surrounding area, or anyone simply wanting to meet the local furry community while enjoying the convention.

Hosted by Guest-of-Honor Cuttlebone and Mordecai, the meet and greet is designed to be a welcoming hub for local furs, visiting friends, fursuiters, artists, photographers, organizers, and anyone curious about the groups and creative spaces that make up furry San Antonio.

A Place to Meet, Connect, and Be Part of the Community

For many people, conventions are where they first discover just how big and varied the furry fandom can be. You may walk into a hallway and see fursuiters posing for photos, artists sharing their work, friends reconnecting after months apart, and new people nervously trying to find their first group to talk to.

That is exactly why meet and greets matter.

The San Antonio Furs Meet & Greet gives attendees a friendly place to start. It is a space where you can come say hello, find familiar faces, meet new people, and learn more about what is happening locally after the convention ends. You do not need to be in a fursuit. You do not need to already know everyone. You do not need to be part of a group yet. You can simply walk in, be yourself, and be welcomed.

For newer members of the fandom, this can be a great first step into the local scene. For longtime community members, it is a chance to reconnect, share what they are working on, and help others find their place.

Exploring the Many Groups of Furry San Antonio

San Antonio’s furry community has grown into something wonderfully diverse. SAFE exists to help connect that community by making it easier to find local events, groups, creators, and friendly spaces across the Alamo City and surrounding area.

The local scene is more than one type of meetup. It includes social groups, photography events, gaming groups, makers, artists, performers, fursuiters, car meets, casual hangouts, all-ages outings, and creative collaborations. Some events are big and lively. Some are small and relaxed. Some are focused on art, some on photos, some on just getting coffee and talking with friends.

That variety is part of what makes the community strong.

The San Antonio Furs Meet & Greet is a great chance to explore those different corners of the fandom. Maybe you are looking for more local events. Maybe you want to meet photographers or get involved in fursuit photos. Maybe you are a creator looking to connect with other artists. Maybe you are hoping to find people who enjoy the same hobbies you do. This event gives everyone a chance to come together in one room and start those conversations.

More Than a Panel, It Is a Community Moment

At its heart, this meet and greet is about connection.

It is about giving a shoutout to the people who help build the community around us. It is about recognizing the organizers, photographers, suiters, artists, volunteers, and everyday members who help keep things moving. It is about making space for new ideas, new friendships, and new collaborations.

Community does not happen by accident. It grows when people make the choice to show up, introduce themselves, invite others in, and treat each other with kindness and respect. A simple “hi” at a meet and greet can turn into a future photo shoot, a group chat invite, a creative project, or a new friendship.

That is the kind of energy this event is bringing to Texas Furry Siesta.

Fursuiters, Photographers, and Friendly Faces Welcome

This event is fursuit friendly, so attendees are welcome to come in suit, bring their character energy, and enjoy the space with others. As always, consent and respect matter. Ask before taking photos, touching suits, giving hugs, or using someone’s image online.

Photographers are also part of what makes the San Antonio community shine. Local photographers help preserve these moments, highlight the creativity of the fandom, and give people memories they can carry with them long after the event is over.

A special thank-you goes out to the photographers who allowed their photos to be used for the event flyer:

Their work helps capture the joy, color, and heart of the local furry community.
